What you need to know
about the new 15% VAT rate and your payments:
All payments and purchases made after December 1st 2008
until 1 January 2010 will have 15% VAT applied.
If you are currently paying your hosting fee by Standing Order Mandate it is
important that
you act on the following information:
Following the example of our accountant, and because the new VAT rate of 15% is only applicable for 13 months, we will not be encouraging changes to your Standing Order Mandates.
Please note that if you don't adjust your Standing Order Mandate you will continue paying the same amount you paid in 2008. This means that the amount you will be paying before VAT is applied is 2.5% more than when the VAT rate was 17.5%. To get around this problem we will automatically credit your account with 2.5% of your hosting fee, and when the VAT rate changes again in January 2010 you will be able to claim the credit on your account as a refund or you can put it towards any internet services you purchase from us in 2010 (e.g. a new domain name, MatrixStats, etc).
Please note that you are responsible for making any changes to your Standing Order Mandate. You are welcome to do so, to take into account the 2.5% VAT reduction, but it would mean extra paperwork on two separate occasions in under 13 months. We would hate to make that compulsory which is why we are offering you a credit note to save you time. Please specify your preferences below. Thank you.
