If your website remains static - the way it was the day it was launched - as time goes on there is the danger that visitors will lose interest. Visitors who have been to your site before will notice there is no new information being added, and it's even worse if your information becomes out of date - the website starts giving the same impression as the dusty window of an abandoned shop front.

Whether you are adding new pictures or banners on an annual basis, including new articles for download, or updating your information on a monthly basis, your website is bound to benefit from some kind of visible activity and growth. This is why Pixink has always offered Website Updating as a hosting service.

Your hosting agreement offers its allocation of updating time FREE of charge. This means that customers who do not need the full amount aren't paying for a service they don't need, while the customers who do use their full allocation are benefiting from what we regard to be a perk. 1 hour a month for customers in the Regular Update category was initially set as a guideline for our website technicians when we discovered that the variable requirements of our customers was dictating the amount of website maintenace we were doing for no extra cost. While we think it is important to offer website updating as part of our hosting agreements, we had to fix the maximum amount we were prepated to do free of charge. Additional updates will be charged at an hourly rate.

Types of Website Updating

You will notice that our hosting plans cater for several levels of update-activity. The Basic Update category caters for essential information changes and annual information updates. The Regular Update category caters for frequent updates, usually once a month. Please note that if you need your updates done by 5pm Friday you must have submitted your material and instructions by noon on Thursday.

It is also worth remembering that, even if you choose a plan that excludes a website update option, that doesn't mean updates will be out of the question for you, should you need them in the future.
