What to expect of the Pixink Web-design Experience

DISCUSS: First we discuss with you what opinions you already have to get a sense of what you want. The conversation normally covers: ideas you have about domain names, preferred colours, and the impression you want the website to give. Using the information you give us we will be able to make suggestions and confirm what options are available to you in terms of appearance, functionality, and special features.

GATHER: Next we will ask you to provide as much material as you possibly can. This is an important stage because it is content that makes a website and it can provide useful inspiration for our designers. Material might include photographs, drawings, logos, existing stationary, etc. If you can't provide text you will need to start thinking about what you want the website to say. If you have any problems providing images for the site we will discuss the ways we can help. Please remember to submit information in accordance with our guidelines.

DESIGN: The design process can be divided into two parts. The first part involves the creation of one or more concepts. A deposit must be paid before design begins. The second part involves feedback from the customer. It is perfectly normal for the customer to suggest changes and tweaks to the site appearance once the structure of the design is there to work with. It will take two to four weeks for our designers to complete their design. This estimate takes into account our designers other roles and responsibilities, normally they will be unable to spend full days on your site only. Our designers charge by the hour and each day they will record how much time was put towards your concept.

CONSTRUCT: The next thing to do is assemble the design in a format that the internet will recognise. This will usually take between one to three months depending on the complexity of the design and features you have chosen. This work is done by our coders and your invoice will reflect the value and difficulty of each section of your site construction, for example: general page construction + calandar feature + image gallery + browser compatiability.

FINALISISE: Once you have seen the finished site and agreed that it is ready to go live we will invoice you and discuss your hosting requirements. If you choose to host elsewhere we will release your website to your hosts once we recieve payment for the website. If you choose to host with Pixink we will help you set up a standing order mandate and arrange for your site to be online from the date of your first hosting payment.
